First Stop In The Virgin Islands - St. Thomas, USVI
Our first stop after we left Puerto Rico was St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We said good-by to Wally and Chris after spending our first night at anchor. In the morning Linda and I sailed to Sopper's Hole on the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. We spent many days and nights in St. Thomas over the next 18 months. Yacht Harbor Grande was our favorite marina, but Red Hook was a close second. The big excitement in the harbor of port of Charlotte Amalie was when the generator almost caught on fire during the night while we were on anchor. I will say often, "That's why we call it an adventure." If nothing exciting happened we would not have any stories to tell. We would go to St. Thomas to do our major shopping because they had K-Mart, Home Depot, and big groceries. We would rent a car and do all the stops in one day.
Born in West Viginia, Linda moved to St. Simons Island over 38 years ago. She has been in Real Estate for most of that time and has owned Coastal Georgia Real Estate Associates for 18 years. In addition to her Brokers License, she has earned the designations, GRI, ABR, ePRO, SRES. Linda and Jeff took 18 months off to sail and live in the British Virgin Islands. They returned in January of 2012 just in time for the bottom of the real estate market.
